I have always used 3/4 inch PEX(the horror) as it is easy,cheap and supplies capacity for our 1 inch gun easily.Have two tanks one being a dead old comp tied in .Some day I will have all that EZ money from farming out west,,hehehhehe,,Maybe if we had two guns running at the same moment,,a 1 inch would be better,,but there is no way thats going to happen here except tomorrow now that I said that..
