You can try. It's 2026 I guarantee you could find information and products to do it.

My question is in the springtime is that a good place to put your time and energy? Is it more important to be getting fields ready and planted or stand in the yard with shuttles and tanks trying to precisely measure mixes, checking pHs, maybe one tank has to be heated for the chemistry to work good...

It's too easy to just buy products already that have agents in them

The easiest agent to buy is a high quality reputable AMF product. As long as it will work in your system. It's a naturally occurring very powerful tool the soil already uses.

Humic/ fulvic acid, carbon products are other options. They work very good. They're natural components in soil and part of their job is to make nutrients available.

A living cover crop for a short time in season and then a cover crop in between seasons is probably the best agent you could invest in

Nutrient cycling is a primary role of functioning soil. if we've reached a point where we have to apply every single pound of nutrient and we're applying agents to help nutrients cycle. I think a question we need to start asking ourselves is what part of the soil system isn't doing its job?
