| I 2nd this recommendation. We farm all high ph soil. Your P needs to banded. I would add VRT P the first year because there are some low P2 in the under 7 PH that needed to be corrected. There isn’t enough P in the P2 to supply your needs. In the High PH there is nothing you can do but banding. Those P1 will always hover lower. You will be able to raise the P2 but it just means you are tying up more P. The band will create highly concentrated area that roots needed to find. Every year you band you create another highly concentrated area. Your going to over apply in corn to make sure you meet the needs of your yield goal. You are trying to makes sure there is more there than the soil in that area can tie up. If you put P in front soybeans move those dollars to over applying P in the corn with some sort of band whether it be by strip till, liquid 2-2, 2-0, even an air flow dry boom with drop hoses(good luck find a commercial willing to modify). It doesn’t matter if it surface applied you just need the band. Fix the K. Fastest way to fix would be to drop 15,000-20,000 gals of dairy manure on it with out removing silage. | |
