Latrobe PA
I have been breeding my Jersey crosses to Milking Fleck semen out of Germany for organic dairy. I wanted to add some size to the Jerseys so I didn't get bent over the barrel with the bull calves which so far has been working. In organic production, they milk the same as my buddies fancy Shorthorn and Ayrshires but will have better return once culled. Big feet, big legs, wide rumps and the calves grow like crazy. My newborns will drink 3 gals a day and you can tell compared to a comparable age Shorthorn. Barn manners are a little on the stubborn side like a big dopey Brown Swiss.
