S Illinois | I am showing about 10MMT switched from unknown destination sales to known sales in corn so far this year. There is also 6MMT in outstanding unknown sales on the books currently. So far none of those unknown sales have been to China.
In last weeks export sales report, 542 kmt was switched from unknown to known. Out of that Japan took 160 kmt, Algeria 70 kmt, Taiwan 65 kmt, Egypt 55 kmt, Saudi Arabia 50 kmt with some smaller amounts to a wide range of countries all across the globe. Right now it's probably a better assumption that none of the unknown sales are to China. Not saying they can't start in at any time, but these 2 or 3 boat load daily sales would be more likely to be one of the SE Asia trio of Japan/Taiwan/South Korea or value buyers like Africa or a place like Saudi Arabia. But a good sign that there is still robust corn export demand at these prices. | |
