I think that may be true to some extent. I sold my cows 27 years ago because simply put, you are married to them. It is, a lot of work, you can’t just up and go on vacation. I wasnt losing money.
Beyond that, I would look at the packers. Cattle are a lot of work, but many people were content to feed 300 head in their small lots, and they didn’t all close up shop because they wanted to. All of this is one of the reasons the Tyson issue is a big deal in Nebraska, years of animosity!
