Central Alabama | We took our old KBH coulter applicators and put Y-drops on them 4 years ago. With the coulters without knives, we were just putting it on one side of the row and the corn would take a while to get uniform. Also didn't like the splatter and root pruning and extra maintenance and cost.
With the Y-drops we are placing on both sides of the row and the corn responds quicker and looks more uniform. We do not use the drag hoses but opt to put a short hose to get it about 4 inches off the row. Also had to put gauge wheels on the wings for stability. | |
