NW IL | A wash on hard numbers last year but more labor and management.
You have a short window to work ground and plant. Last year they wanted some sweet corn in on July 4. And they'll harvest in the rain and mud things up awful when it's time to harvest. Planting is often a few weeks off of regular planting, but that also means weed control and irrigation schedule is off too. Just makes for a higher management system for more of the summer.
If I'm doing more work I'd like to be paid for it. | |
