Subject: RE: Ag leader Turnpath on articulated tractor

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
Again not that it helps the articulated situation but we use a 60' planter with a 120' headlands and Turn Path works well for us.

This is with a MFWD though. It basically makes a light bulb shaped turn and the planter lines up nicely for the return path. It seems to me that the light bulb shape is necessary so that as the planter "squares up" behind the tractor it cuts across when entering the return pass. With an articulated the tractor, the hitch is moved "away" from the turn so the size and shape of the light bulb might need to be different than for a standard tractor and the same implement.

I find that I need to use the AB lines from the planting tractor as an aid to know where to pull in with the combine at harvest time when I strike through for a new strip since the rows are so nicely spaced. That was never much of a problem when I was manually steering the planter tractor. I could almost always find a pair or rows that were slightly wide or narrow to use as a guide as to where to pull in with an 8 row corn head following a 24 row planter.
