West Chazy, New York | When the gypsy moth wiped out the oaks in central Pennsylvania, the deer population exploded. Game wardens were picking up roadkilled deer by the truckload, and were happy for any way to dispose of them. One outfit was raising trout in concrete raceways, and had a big grinder that could process a whole deer carcass. The trout grew well and the feed was pretty much free. | |
