Was just thru there last Monday. Two lane like they said , 35 mph for about twenty miles. The alternatives are not very good. Old two lanes that are very curvy and hilly. I talked to a native that had come North to Gatlinburg on back roads, he returned on I-40 said the alternates were not worth it.
