Southern Illinois | Thank you for your response. I’m not trying to ruffle feathers. We actually do share financial info to some extent. I don’t know exactly what it cost to put out the cover crops but I’m fairly certain his input costs are much less than mine. I know most of his farms are HEL and are suitable for cover crops. This is the only notable change to the operation in the last 5 years other than lower grain prices. I know 5 - 7 years ago he was close to debt free. | |
