As yhe title says, what are the benefits of using liquid fertilizer? Guys used to say they'd get a little yield bump. I dont see how but...IDK. Good ol google has no real answer. For those who use it, why do you use it?

Not sure about a yield bump- but a very good farmer in my area went from dry on the planter to liquid on the planter because he was convinced there was better emergence quicker.

We were all dry on the planter with K broadcast in the fall. Stored fertilizer in a barn, the barn needed a roof. Cheaper to buy tanks than it was roof the fertilizer storage / barn.

Stored all our 10-34-0 and 28% on farm. As mentioned, it was easier to handle. It was easier to haul more fertilizer to the field and it was easier to get more capacity on the planter. We never had any issues with rust on the equipment, nothing at all like we did with dry. WE placed 10-34-0, S, and 28% all with the planter. The downside is in my mind potash. Its hard to get any near the row with liquid if thats needed. Out side of that, and potentially cost, no downside.

As far as capacity goes- theres now a lot of different equipment to haul a lot of dry on the planter. And deliver it to the row evenly.
