SW TX PANHANDLE | I beg to differ, I’ve been in the show steer world for a long time and those steers have gotten a lot bigger. Most winners at the major show level are over 1400 lbs. that means they actually weigh 1500+ and they are packed full of muscle. Now getting them there is not efficient at all as most of the cattle that win are almost 2 years old. Honestly, we are creating a lot of new problems with these 16-1700 lb cattle wealth wise. Lots more heart and structure issues with cattle that big. | |
