| West Central IL, strip till corn / no till bean rotation for 20+ years. Been planting traited corn for as long as it's been out. That goes for most of the fields in this area.
Considering planting conventional corn this year for seed savings and potential premium. Have ran alot of numbers and have a solid plan for management / weed control. Grass is of very little concern on these fields.
What about insect control? Current corn planter does not have insecticide boxes on it although older mechanical bean planter does and that could be used for corn. Don't neccesarily want to but it could be. Are there options to include a worthwhile insecticide with preemerge and/or a post pass? Can alwasy include it in fungicide if we end applying it this year.
