Seed crop wasn’t as good as the had hoped
Growing/processing seed is expensive, the want to grow as little as possible to avoid the expense of carry over that often dies in storage. Sometimes they have too much carryover, other times they are short and that’s where we are.
Bonus here I guess since I said two things. Sometimes they have idiots in charge of this too. Sprinkle some DEI in here and you can really end up with someone out of touch with the position | |
