Private Oil companies...not U.S. taxpayers
Exxon and Conoco invested ALOT of money on those refineries in Venezuela, only to have them seized by the Venezuelan government in '07. Legal process, thru arbitration, has gotten the oil companies nowhere in regaining control of those refineries. Not a cheerleader for big oil, but it seems they have a case here. I realize oil is only indirectly the goal here, as I feel the main objective is to throttle China. |
