I'm going to agree with oldtiger. Show poeple can do their thing but that has nothing to do with us beef producers. If you are buying left over club calves and trying to get them to 1600# that is your problem. We buy all feeders and are pretty sure they do not all come from 1600-1800# cows. The biggest problem getting steers above 1600 pounds is taking the protien away in favor of energy before 850#. Not all created equal but if backgrounded correctly for todays market 90% can get above 1600 pretty efficiently. |
