For those who use it, why do you use it?
Convenience and efficiency.
We used dry fertilizer with the planter for decades until acreage expansion forced us to change to liquid.
Pros:
You can cover more acres per planter fill-up.
You can haul more acres worth of fertilizer on a truck/trailer.
It's easier. Hook up a hose and pump. No climbing in a hopper with a shovel or shoving around an auger. The older you get, the more you'll appreciate this.
No climbing around to cover up the fertilizer every night and messing with tarps. Rain coming? No problem.
No worries about storing it. Liquid is not going to attract moisture and get hard.
Cons:
None. We should have done it years before we did. |
