Eastern NE KS | I'm done healing financially, ready to build some. I imagine anyone with adequate moisture is the same. So far heifers on feed are within a tic of the normal high. I suspect this will change in the next 2 (3-6 mo) reports.
My salebarn auctioneer/promotion speaker have been pushing 5 wt pretty black heifers as replacements the last 6 weeks. And the girls are pulling down the value per head within $100 of similar wt steers. Just before this time, heifers were a $3-400 discount to steers. I still not sure where the girls go but my bet these are going to be bred. | |
