ecmn | I think you have a wonderful product that a guy can use when building functional soil. I should be getting some of this as just a normal part of a system trying to rebuild my soils. Bringing ecological balance to the soil even without a severe pest issue gives our plants more potential or opportunity to do better.
Things farmer should be asking themselves
If adding nematodes can help control rootworm why are they missing in the first place
If adding a predator back into the system is the control why not farm in a manner that allows them to thrive naturally?
Or if nature already had the predator why are we buying it instead of rebuilding the habitat
If the root room is disappearing when you're bringing balance back to the soil isn't the worm a signal of a broken system?
You are literally putting wolves back into an overpopulated elk herd on the side of the mountain.
There is no scientific link connecting SCN to rootworm. There's nothing saying if you have one you automatically have the other. If I was going to Las Vegas and somebody said they have a bad corn rootworm problem. I would not be scared to put some money down saying that it's highly likely you had, have, or will have SCN.
Both of these pests thrive in a very similar system.
The more you try to control these bugs chemically the more you're building the system for them bugs to thrive. | |
