The reason these peach growers are snit out of luck is because they hitched their wagon to a one trick pony.
They chose to grow Cling peaches. The only thing they are good for is a cannery. You’re not going to sell those to Costco or Walmart or even Bob’s hometown grocery store. Ice chasing labor did not bring this on.
These growers signed on and committed to growing a long term perennial crop with a company that took a dump. Happens in all sorts of businesses. This particular product really has no plan B. Unfortunate for the growers but life’s not fair. Not sure how ICE chasing labor had anything to do with the original post.
