When you're pulling a heavy draft implement in 2WD and you flick the switch to 4WD and the tractor suddenly shoots forward, you know it's making a difference, OR when operating in hilly terrain, where the 4 wheel braking really comes into it's own.
But the real advantage is with loader work, in muddy conditions. That's when 4WD really shines.
