Subject: RE: Moldboard plowing

live in Spfd, farm located NW Macoupin county
Moldboard plowing has advantages when it comes to corn on corn. The previous corn residue has pathogens that are detrimental to the following corn crop. Hence the reason to try to turn the "soil" black when going back to corn. Equipment companies hav emade fortunes designing, marketing, and selling new equipment to turn the soil black without the old plow.
Erosion (water and wind) can be an issue that must be considered when the plow comes out.
