live in Spfd, farm located NW Macoupin county | I am not going to deny the MFWD does not have some merit. However, when you have two tractors (2Wd & MFWD) at the same total weight but each one weighted properly, you will not see much difference at normal field speeds.
Slow speeds and wet conditions definitely favor the MFWD and in front end loader operations the MFWD really shines.
Most 2WD are running way heavy on the front end.
If you really want to kill the performance of the MFWD, have the tractor weighted properly for MFWD operation then shut off the front wheel and you will get the results that previous posters have stated.
