Subject: RE: What to expect from this Bull

Eastern NE KS
My reading is this bull leans toward performance, 10 years ago his growth epds would be considered great. Today he's one notch above breed average. In addition, his carcass evaluation is very good. I like that his marbling is better than his average ribeye area. I believe these to be antagonistic (IMF vs RE) to each other and leaning to marbling is where the good eating starts.

His maternal value is breed average. Docile he's not. Udder and teat evaluation is near breed average. His daughters are predicted to give lots of milk. He is extra tall, for me that's not what I like for my cows. However, your opinion is what matters here.

Hoof shape is not ideal, leaning towards the problems that triggered this newer breed focus. Another standout is small scrotum circumference. And I repeat myself, his calves will be flighty.

I have no recognized recollections on his close up pedigree. Sorry. I think a short version of all this is that he is a good terminal bull where his calves become CAB eating.
