I can't comment on the silver market, but contract expiration day on a NG futures contract is about as nothing a burger as it comes for that individual contract. You are talking volumes in the double digits if that. Very very few people will hold contracts that close to expiration and if they do it is not small or retail traders. It's all the local traders or big commercial.
