I started my hedging of new crop corn and soybeans today. If it soars higher, great, I will hedge more!!

We had a nice Feb rally in both, and the final day of Feb trade is a significantly higher price than the Feb average that crop insurance will use. A lot of folks like to make forward sales at levels higher than crop insurance spring price, so here is one opportunity to do that!

It is not uncommon, in my memory at least, that the March planting intentions report is hard on prices...
