In 1983 or 4 IH was going around doing demo's with the new 88 series MFWD tractors. They kind of did the same thing with the 2+2's a few years before. Run the same HP 2wd tractor in the field with the mfd/Four wheel drive, and they measured fuel usage, etc. The advantage was obvious, it was just a lot of years before I could afford one. lol.
