
| I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong here, but isn't JD's position that you buy the rights to use the equipment and software, you don't buy the software itself, which includes the equipment? I mean, basically you are leasing it. At least with automotive you can get code readers to read codes, and it's a standardized system, by law. Farm equipment is a little more wild west, and you get excluded from even doing diagnostics on your own equipment unless you pay a heft fee for "access" to the code readers and etc.
