Fleckvieh, Braunvieh and Gelbvieh literally mean yellow cow, brown cow and red cow in German. Flecks got popular 25 years ago in organic dairy circles because some slick salesman convinced a bunch of hippies they are more efficient for pasture grazing, which is completely false imo. The advantage is they can handle high elevation a lot better compared to the other breeds. Montbeliarde was developed as a cross between Red Holstein and Gelbvieh to get more milk without getting elevation sickness. Since you're from Ohio I wouldn't mess with it. Stick with Angus Simms or Balancers.
