Holland, Indiana (SW IN) | heck I’m a Purdue grad I think I know doing all in one crop every other year is wrong
I didn’t think we would continue doing it— extraordinary circumstances started it
Every time we talk about doing rotate 1/2 and 1/2 corn soybeans each year or any such rotation
Both my SIL and I hate the idea —one crop is easy
Long as we can keep finding truck drivers or even someone with their own semi to haul the corn years — it will work
In best I remember in about 1980 we were on the verge of bankruptcy put out 100 % soybeans ( saved seed, no fertilizer, cheapest herbicide was dyanap all in fuel and everything less than $50 an acre) rained most every day that fall we learned to cut and dry soybeans no matter the weather —survived some way
Dan
Add the 1980 all soybeans year we averaged over 50 bu beans— divine intervention:-)
