SW OH | We go through this at least once a year and still don't have a good answer. Usually the calf ends up in the kitchen and bottle fed. It's usually a first calf heifer. We have put the cow in the chute 3 times a day and calf will eat well for a week. On the 8th day, no chute, the heifer will still reject the calf. Then it goes home and in the back yard. Next calf from that cow she is the best cow in the herd.
