I know squat about strip mining. But in Southeast KS where Big Brutus is now set up as a museum.........where he was left unplugged at the end of his life's work shift..........there's a lot of foliage and brush grown up in what is left of the mine area. No crop in the immediate area...........but certainly not devoid of plants.
