As another example, what do you think happens with electric fence. Electricity is stored in the fence until you or something else completes the circuit to the ground.
An electric fence doesn't work this way. The charger sends pulses of electricity through the wire every one to two seconds. So no, the fence won't instantly bite you unless you have bad timing. Sometimes when I'm around my fence and I catch it shorting out..........I can fix the problems grabbing it between pulses. Perhaps something got too close and is shorting it out enough that I'm hearing it pop. I can quickly grab it and bend a wire or break a green weed over, or whatever is causing the problem. If it's harder to fix, obviously I've got to turn it off. I usually have 5 to 10 miles powered up year round............so I unfortunately get a lot of experience fixing problems. |
