The purpose of creating a will is so a person can determine what happens with their estate after passing.
Therefore, all the provisions of the will should be honored, even if someone [in this case the spouse] tries to claim otherwise.
For better or for worse, the time to change things has passed. Honor the will [and the wishes of the deceased].
