I responded about people "not knowing who pays the tariffs" in regards to comments on foreign countries pay them when NO, it is absolutely the domestic businesses that pay the tariffs to their government on imported goods/supplies. Thus domestic businesses raise their price to cover the additional cost OR foreign exporters try to lower price to make up for tariff charged to alleviate cost to importers to still ship same amount. My question was/is, on all or some items is it because of increased cost to suppliers or still just a mark up even though foreign imports are dropped in price but can "still use" the tariff expense as a reason?
Fertilizer is not even a question.... especially Canadian Potash. | |
