Most non farmers don't realize that the money farmers receive just passes through their accounts and stimulates the economy. Besides that, a large percentage of the money that farmers receive gets paid back to the government in taxes. The general welfare public pays very little or nothing back in taxes.
That old horse always gets trotted out, it’s always been horse crap. Name any business that wouldn’t do the same ? You think the mom and pop hardware store wouldn’t spend any government money they were to have fall from the sky ? You don’t think they would hire a guy to put on a new roof ?
You want to stimulate the economy by giving folks money give it to the poorest of the poor, every dollar will get spent. Instead we give corporations tax breaks and they buy back stock, pumping up Wall Street.
Many farmers will just sock the added government money into some account.
