Strathcona, mn | I’m 46 6’0-225# in pretty good shape. I coach youth and high school wrestling and usually wrestle with the kids 3-4 times a week from Nov to March. I made a deal with my middle daughter that if she would wrestle at folkstyle nationals with my oldest daughter that I’d enter the masters tournament. My weight goal is 195# for weigh ins. In 4 weeks I’ve dropped 20#+ by cutting out carbs and sugars and just watching proportions. Weekends have been harder for me as we are out and about, church potluck, etc…. I’ve structured a work out routine and try to get an intense 30-40 minute workout each day, after having my farm accident and breaking my ankles 7 years ago running is still not very good for me. That and it being winter I do time each day on an elliptical machine. Have myself doing 200+ crunches and 100+ push-ups each day. I’m down 6 notches in my belt so far. My daily energy is better and more consistent. I have a bad habit for sweets and once a week I’ll let myself have a treat. Goal is to be sub 200+ and then drop the other 5 by water weigh and empty stomach for weigh ins. Amazing what just cutting sugar out of a diet does! All of the preaching that meat and eggs, etc.. are bad for you is bs. It’s all the processed foods and sugars that are bad for our bodies. Look when obesity overtook the us, when processed foods and sugars were pushed onto the American public and “home cooking” went away. | |
