I have i believe a 7 ring tall by 24 diameter harvestore that was originally built to store high moisture corn for hogs, hasn't been used in years, but still standing. When filling them do you need to fill them all the way up for the bladders to work correctly? Ive never been involved in filling this one, but might only put 5k bushel in it. Is there any reason i cant fill it with an auger instead of using a blower, or is that just asking for shear pin issues? Thoughts? What else am I missing? Thinking 25% corn.

I've been doing GROUND high moisture corn for 40 years in harvestores. Farmhand grinder blower to fill. 25-35%.

You don't have to fill them full. When it cools at night, the air bags will suck in outside air. When it gets warm during the day, the air bags deflate and put that air back out.

You can use an auger, but it would be better to level the corn off when done filling.

I've never done dry ice or carbon dioxide. Ground corn eliminates a lot of air so that it packs good. but with whole corn, it would be a good idea if not filling full.
