SW WI | My experience…..breather bags don’t always work as were designed. You will no doubt have air in the silo after the 5k you put in there. It will depend on temps after filling….fall, winter…good….waiting until summer to use….bad. Also using day after day and pulling a good amount….good. Sitting for long periods…bad.
I think my breather bag came down in my silo and jammed the unloader in Dec. I’m pulling out of side door every day until I can get in there, after venting to see what’s going on. Corn in good condition but I don’t want it to sit and I’ll need to get corn cleaned out.
Also what helps is putting some dry corn in, 1st load so it doesn’t pick up moisture from concrete.
