Many of the people being rounded up and deported were already in the system. They were picked up at hearings, or had non-deporation orders. So that isn't what this whole things about. It's not about doing it "the right way" whatever that is. ICE is attacking and detaining U.S. citizens, so it's not really about "illegals" either then, is it? 

The Biden administration issued millions of Immigrant SSI numbers. You know why the did that? So they could interact with those people, track those people, vet those people, get them in the system. That's how you do it. That's why the DID it. You don't need the idiotic cruelty of a Trump to "vet" people. If this administration wanted to "vet" the people that were already here, then they'd hire more judges and court workers and speed up the process that was already in place. They didn't, they actually did the opposite of that. So that makes it kind of look like it's less about vetting, and just more about racism.
