 West Central MN | While the Deere effort to better differentiate the displays to the general public is noted, the sunk cost to make the counterfeit markings can be easily recouped with the selling of just one unit to an unsuspecting buyer. Now leverage that across an unscrupulous person selling many displays, with no accountability, and the root problem of enabling bad actors hasn't gone away with the laser etch, it's just another hurdle easily gone around.
Which circles back to one needs to check with a dealer before trading any money for one, markings alone are not enough. | |
