Not sure what kind of grass you're talking about, but 4 leaves wouldn't be nearly enough for this situation.
Fescue, a lot of people turnout early but that would be pretty hard on it to do that after it was grabbed down. Any field edges and waterways out in the cornstalks I graze every year get grabbed down pretty low in the fall since cows prefer it over the stalks, always comes back well every year to graze or bale the key to it is just rest and recovery
