| I think an accurate general overview of this topic based on the various times it has come up is that people on both sides want and appreciate the individuals that want to contribute to society and remain peaceful. The side that is falsely being accused of racism had literally been ignored when they called for proper vetting of illegal immigrants in the past. The lack of proper vetting is their general issue, not racism.
That led to the current situation of how to remove the nefarious types now that they are already walking amongst the general population. That is the current situation. Like it or not he didn’t create the problem. People can blame him for how he is attempting to fix it but he didn’t create the situation that needs to be fixed somehow.
What do you think would be a solution to removing only the individuals who are now embedded within society that went to the U.S. with ill intent? Are “sanctuary” cities and states part of the solution to that or are the part of the problem? Is it best to wait until they hurt, kill, or rape Americans before they go through a vetting process? Is it possible to take any preventative action in a way that racism could not be used as a scapegoat to label the action to discredit it’s true purpose?
FWIW I truly believe that the vast majority of people are very accepting of the truly productive and well intentioned illegal immigrants and they would be more than willing to welcome them into society. I believe that process could be made a lot better. I also believe that there is a segment of society that views all immigrants as a problem as well as a group that views all immigrants as victims. As with any other issue of late both of the extreme ends are the problems and are given the loudspeakers so they have the loudest voices.
