| Couple things i didnt see mentioned above:
Short ones are more manueverable and harder to paddle straight, easier to get to the water, cant carry as much stuff. Hull shape effects this as well, but general rule of thumb.
Longer ones easier to paddle straight lines, much slower/harder to change direction. Harder to fit in pickup, but you can strap everything you find on the water onto it somewheres. Heavier.
I find the longest one with the best seat (padding, tall back, padding, and padding) is the best for me here on the river. I can usually find a way to fall into whatever kind i get to use, but i usually plan in getting wet.
