Ne Colorado
My grand dad would buy a full section of retired open range ground and then divide it up in 4 quarters. The idea was to rotate the 800 sheep he had on each quarter for 15-20 days then on to the next. So each quarter had 4 square sides to it yes. The woven wire we use is fixed knot wire and pricy. But it’s supposed to last 50 years. It used to actually rain back in his day so he had to pay attention to parasite issues. So he kind of created this rotational system if you can call it that to stay ahead of the parasites. But we don’t have the rain or 800 sheep anymore. We’ve lost 10” of rain a year that we used to get 20 years ago. He used to say 20” was a wet year and 12 was a dry one. We average 6” now. Don’t have the parasite issues that he had.
