 Floyd County, Iowa | Skunks and possums get the pass here. They have their good points so I leave them alone. As long as there's no cat or dog food for them to eat, they stay out of the way. Wife doesn't overfeed her cats and dog gets fed inside, so there's nothing for them to eat as far as pet food.
But a coon gets no leeway here. Vicious, messy, destructive. I see them, they're buzzard food/coyote bait immediately.
I watch some coon hunters and fur trappers from Martin County, Minn on YouTube. They are selling skunk tails for $35.00 each, but a coon pelt only brings $7.50. They get a lot of skunk tails from roadkill.
