Subject: Small water well tied into pivot.

I have a small pivot 25 acres. It’s nozzled for 100 GPM. I have one well that pumps 100 or close enough this time of year but will be down to about 80 trying to grow a summer crop. I have a second well that currently has a 2HP in it that it pumps real close to the extra 20 I need, but not a drop more. It keeps eating capacitors so I think the pump has bad bearings. It’s pulling a lot more amps than spec.

The second hole is 50’ deep and I have a 1HP in another that will pump 26-27 easy from 72’. I’m tempted to try a 1HP that I can deal with myself since 20 gallons isn’t worth the service call for a water well truck to come and I’ve had a lot of trouble with this hole in general.

So pivot operating pressure is 15, underground is all large stuff. Will the 1HP have the push to actually help with the pivot? It’s right at 400’ from the pivot point.
