I have an old one from AOL, and a couple Gmails, which are easy to switch to whatever gmail account you want. Are you on Chrome? It wouldn't surprise me if Chrome tries to tie you down somehow and make it your main e-mail account. I use Firefox, Librewolf and Brave sound like good alternatives as well.
